The conversation starts at the beginning, with the inspiration to explore America the way they explored China. And goes on to talk about beginning reporting in each new town; some of the highlights, lowlights, and most moving experiences; the privilege and responsibility of doing this kind of journalism; and trying to make an impact. Hollenbeck asks about the personal side as well, of sustaining a relationship over more than 50 years.
